A group node is an individual subunit of a hierarchy. There are several classifications of group nodes, but the two most common ones are root group nodes and leaf nodes. Root group nodes mark the culmination of navigation hierarchies while leaf nodes represent facilities (or devices), which are the low-level points at which data enters a hierarchy.
GRP nodes are created automatically each time you add a node to a group hierarchy within the Group Manager utility. Essential properties for these auto-created nodes populate the node property sheets, including their unique Node ID, also known as a Data Key. Nodes can be accessed and edited by using the GRP node editors or the Group Manager utility. Best practice recommends using the Group Manager utility to do so.
To Locate Group Nodes Using the Group Service
Note: This step depends on the Select Search setting you use to filter and display group nodes. You might have to modify how you display nodes in the GRP service in order to find the one you are looking for. Right-click in the GRP service pane to display the Select Search option.
